Ankle injury, MRI, waiting for results, what to do?

So I have really bad ankle pain (starting from when my horse crushed my ankle and foot two years ago, then tore the ligament there completely 3 times, and slightly twice more). So I've had an MRI on Wednesday, which left me extremely sore and limping. My ankle was in such a painful position for 1/2 hour that I am still limping from the pain and am considering using my crutches once again (and those who know me, know that I would prefer never to use them again). So, hopefully my doc will have the results soon and see something wrong on them, but he will only get them in like a week. Any suggestions on what to do till then??? No mean comments please. I'm just asking in case someone else has gone through this before...
