Hey girls i need help with my friend?

Ok so I've been friends with her since we were born our moms knew eachother etc. Her boyfriend calls sots of names and tried hitting her before I stopped him. But every time I try to confront him she pulls me aside and say "she'll handle it" but she doesn't really do anything I'm just worried about I don't know what to do
