PLEASE HELP ME- OPENING STATEMENT FOR MOCK TRIAL?

MOCK TRIAL OPENING STATEMENT... i need to write an opening statement for the defense side, my client is being charged with second degree manslaughter, however she was physically abused and had NO INTENT to kill her husband she was just trying to protect herself and her son.. had a few doctor visits but had to make up stories so the family friend doctor wouldnt learn the truth she also called a hotline a few tiems for help..
