How to lose weight with a broken ankle?

I broke my tibia in two places and tore 2 ligaments 6 weeks ago. I tried doing a low carb diet which lasted about 3 days! I get bored obv and eat, I try to workout just don't know what to really do. I do ab workouts and elevated push-ups, haven't seen much results. I swim competitively year round so I want to swim but my doctor won't let me for about another 3 weeks. Any suggestions?!
