Why don't parents "Check" there children when they take them for a pub lunch?

Pubs are different to restaurants. I would not allow my children to run around the seating area of a pub but most pubs have gardens and play areas. Pubs cater to two groups, day time and lunch time is geared towards families. The evening is for adults. A pub is a public house, it aims to have a more laid back and homely atmosphere, most pub landlords have children of their own and some of those that run around, are running around their own homes. When I was child free and wanted a quiet meal, the last place I would consider getting it is a lunch time pub!!!
